On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the United States of America. This attack is not about the United States support of Israel. That is an excuse. The real agenda of these people is the establishment of a dictatorship disguised as a Muslim State. They are preying on the fears of a people who see their traditions threatened by American culture.
These self-righteous zealots would impose their will and their interpretation of what is right on the entire world and would not hesitate to establish a dictatorship where church and state were not separated.
Understandably, people who live in a culture where veiled women walk behind men swathed in head to toe clothing find American culture shocking and offensive. They further naively attribute the American culture to Satan. They yearn for a return to fundamentalist Muslim culture. We have seen this type of reaction to contemporary American culture in the United States by Christian fundamentalists who blow up federal buildings and attack and kill medical doctors.
As true followers of Christ and most Americans do not support the
despicable acts of Christian fundamentalist radicals, the true followers of
Allah and most people of Mid-Eastern descent do not support this
despicable attack. The Christian and
Muslim religions are not all that different in recognizing basic truths about
the sanctity of human life and how to behave as a society and as individuals in
a society. We must keep this in mind
and not target innocent people in our moments of understandable outrage.
